Clinical Experience

This course contains 100 hours of mandatory work placement. VFA Learning will assist on-campus students with organising practical placements where required and regular workplace visits by a qualified assessor to support on-the-job training.

Students will need to provide evidence of the following before placements:

  • Provide a clear National Criminal History (Police) Check
  • Provide a clear Working with Children Check
  • Provide a record of your immunisation history
  • Provide evidence of your COVID-19 vaccination

Flexible Study

We understand that many of our students need to work while learning, so we have developed a blended option for this course. It includes online theory components and completion of all practical observations in a simulated work environment or placement as required by the qualification.

Our modified Flipped Learning approach encompasses the following:

  • Face-to-face/Classroom Based
  • Work Placement
  • Self-directed Learning

Each week of training, students will complete:

  • 2 days of classroom-based training and assessment

Students can also expect self-directed studies and practical practice on the remaining days of the week to reinforce skills.

  • If completing the course on campus, the 100 hours of mandatory work placement will be in timetabled blocks within the course. Placement will be 1 day per week while completing placement requirements.
