VET in Schools (VETiS)
VETiS programs allow students in Years 10–12 to gain vocational qualifications while completing their VCE or VM. These programs are ideal for students looking to explore career pathways while developing practical skills.

Work Placement
As part of the course, students are required to complete 120 hours of structured work placement. VFA Learning has established the following structure for completion of Practical Placement hours:
- 40 hours* to be completed in simulated environment at VFA Learning campus
- 80 hours to be completed in suitable Allied Health facility
* Please note that if a Student does not attend all of the required timetabled classroom sessions to obtain the 40hours of simulated experience they may need to complete extra hours in their external placement.
Practical Placement should be completed in Year 1 of the VETDSS Program. In special circumstances and through consultation with the Student, VET Coordinator (or equivalent) and the Student Journey Coordinator, placement hours may be completed in Year 2.
Schools are responsible for sourcing Practical Placement Providers for Students. VFA Learning can assist where required. Practical Placement can be completed in the following areas:
- Hospital
- Community health
- Mental health
- Disability sector
- Aged care sectors
