When a student transitions from IT to massage therapy, you might wonder how such a dramatic shift unfolds. We did too! We chatted with Mark Skec, Director at Evolution Myotherapy, to learn more about his journey from IT to massage and myotherapist.
Mark’s IT career was challenging and fulfilling, but he felt something was missing. “I enjoyed solving technical problems, but I knew I wanted a role where I could make a real difference,” Mark explains. His growing interest in health and wellness led him to explore a new career path.
After a series of frustrations at work and a perfectly timed call from VFA Learning, Mark found himself contemplating a new direction. “I was looking for a hands-on career with direct client interaction, and VFA’s courses seemed like the perfect fit,” he says. Mark decided to jump in feet first—or should we say hands first—marking the start of an exciting new chapter in his career change to myotherapy.

- Business Success: “Owning and operating Evolution Myotherapy has been a dream come true. Building a solid client base and seeing my business thrive has been incredibly fulfilling.”
Today, Mark is thriving and focusing on growing his business. “The skills and confidence I gained at VFA have been key to my success,” he says. He now enjoys helping clients improve their wellbeing, which is a rewarding shift from his previous IT job.
