Steven Brooke, a proud graduate of VFA Learning, has successfully combined personal training and disability support to create a business that’s transforming lives. After completing his Certificate IV in Fitness, Steven launched Connect Fitness and Support Services, a unique business aimed at helping people of all abilities overcome barriers to exercise.
His work in disability support sparked the idea for Steven’s career shift. It was one of his clients, a man in his 70s who had been wheelchair-bound for nearly 30 years, who gave him the idea for his new direction. Steven would regularly take him to the gym and assist with exercises. This experience made him realise that fitness and disability support could be combined into a holistic service. It was here that Steven’s passion for fitness came alive.
Enrolling at VFA Learning was the next step in turning his passion into a career. The hands-on learning and comprehensive training provided by the fitness course gave Steven the tools he needed to build his own business.
“The course covered everything, from exercise science to client management, and it really opened my eyes to what’s possible,” Steven explains.
Thanks to his training at VFA, Steven now offers a dual service where he helps clients with their fitness goals and disability support needs. His work is all about making fitness accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities.
“It’s never too late to follow your passion,” Steven says, encouraging others to pursue careers that make a difference.
Steven’s journey proves that with the right education and determination, you can change both your life and the lives of others. To learn more about Connect Fitness and Support Services, visit their website.
